NEWSLETTERS

Newsletters are published a few days before the first meeting of the month.

Our newsletter is designed to inform our members and other interested people, about what to expect at the next meeting, what is/might be happening in the near future and what happend in the immediate past. It also includes the results of the last image competition.

Members are encouraged to submit articles of interest, practical how-to's and other items for inclusion in Aperture Ring. We also include promotional items for photographic exhibitions and galleries, to let members know where they can see photography on display, professional or amateur, as well as information about competitions or salons, local, national or international, in which they might wish to submit their works for judgement and assessment by external bodies (there are usually prizes involved - cash and/or goods - for the merit winners in these events).

There is a treasure trove of information in the newsletters and a visit to the archive could reap big rewards (may not too, it comes down to how eloquent and generous we were feeling at the time). Please feel free to read them and copy any you wish. If you intend to plagiarise or pilfer text or images from our newsletters, it would be nice to be asked first, and if, as is most likely, permission is granted, to be given a byline, acknowledging the source. If permission is not sought and therefore not granted, you could find yourself in a vat of hot fixer solution over copyright issues.
